Sacred Preparation:
Orthodox End-of-Life Ritual Training for Laypeople
When a loved one dies, an end-of-life ritual honors the person who has died and begins the healing process for those who remain. The preparation of the body for burial has been relegated to professionals, but was once the domain of the family and community.
Natural rituals from the Orthodox Christian tradition offer sacredness to a challenging passage of life. The Training for Laypeople workshop offers practical how-to’s, information, frameworks for personal expression, and hands-on practice (with a live volunteer) to help prepare laypeople take on as much as they wish.
